The exhibition PLEASE GIVE ME SOMETHING, I CAN REFUSE presents the work of six contemporary artists who explore the theme of identity from different perspectives. The issue of personal identity has long since transcended the private sphere and has become a contentious issue. The various debates are no longer simply about everyday social norms, life paths and personal freedom, but about politically motivated strategies of exclusion.

The exhibition includes works that challenge dominant discourses in individual ways, replacing them with fluid narratives and deliberately ambiguous settings of social function, origin, gender or class.
